About SB Marine engineering

Hi! My name is Simon.  I have been in the marine trade since 1999 where I started as an engineer based in Dover marina.  Here, I became a fully trained Volvo Penta marine engineer and well known in the Kent area, with service levels winning us a special award and recognition from Volvo Penta.  

I then started a specialist transport business moving boats and yachts by road, around the UK and all over Europe.  This required knowledge of the structural aspects of boats to transport them safely and correctly.  This business grew to be a great success, again due to customer service and quality of my work. However, after doing this for many years, family time was important so I decided to sell the business.  I have taken a natural step into the repair and maintenance side of the marine industry again, something I really enjoy doing.  

Boating is also my hobby, and I own a motorcruiser which is currently in Gillingham after several seasons boating on the Norfolk Broads.  I have a vast knowledge of everything boat related, so can do any aspect of boat repairs and  maintenance from a simple engine service, through to a complete refit.   I am happy to help and advise with any problems and have a cup of tea or coffee and talk boats with you!
